Why do I want to be a Shopify Guru?

So I can get paid to stay home all day in my pajamas on the computer! Just kidding…of course there are more reasons!

Little bit of history. The work I have done has always had one distinctive thing in common…people! I have always enjoyed working directly with people and genuinely like to help.

Whether it was doing retail, web design or being an office manager; each field of work gave me the opportunity to work one on one with people.  Even though I enjoyed my jobs it seemed there was always something missing. Separately retail didn’t satisfy my creative side, freelance lacked enough people interaction and the responsibilities of my office management job took me away from web design. I still do some work for a few clients but I miss being a part of the web design world. 

Recently I was hired to redo a website for a client who required online sales.  I was interested in learning more about Shopify. I spoke to a Guru I know and afterwards decided that Shopify was the way to go. I was quite pleased with the software, and have enjoyed working with it.

Naturally when I learned from him (who is now a Lead) that Shopify was hiring I was very interested in hearing more. He told me more about what the job entailed and the income/perks that came with it. Great job with great pay….I can do something I love and buy pajamas too!!!!

I really enjoyed building my test site and even though it is a test site I find myself wishing it was for a real client. Who knows maybe it will be one day.

Being a Guru would mean having a job that would bring all the good assets of past jobs into one. It would keep me in the web design world where I want to be while working closing with people.

I can see myself happily doing this job.
